A few tips from hundreds of jobs to make your rental go smoothly.
Don't try to do the whole yard at once. Work in 6–8 foot sections, sift, spread the clean rock back, then move on. It's faster and less tiring.
If it rained recently, give the gravel a day to dry out. Wet dirt clumps and doesn't sift as cleanly. Dry conditions = faster work and cleaner results.
New Mexico afternoons get hot. Start in the morning when it's cool. You'll be amazed how much you can get done before lunch.
